Lourdes Mastectomy Bra

For those that are unaware, a mastectomy is the surgical removal of either one or both breasts, usually due to breast cancer. This is a cause very close to my heart and I'm beyond proud to be contributing to helping our mastectomy friends feel beautiful and glorious in their lingerie following treatment.

Mastectomy bras differ from our regular bras, as they offer a front closure for easy removal, no underwire for added comfort and a special sewn-in pocket in which to fit prosthetic breasts.

When making this pattern, we strongly suggest the use of bamboo jersey fabric and soft, cotton stretch lace for the ultimate skin comfort. This is due to the major skin irritation that chemotherapy and radiation can cause, both during and after treatment.
